''Nephele aequivalens'' is a moth of the Sphingidae family. It is known from forests up to 5,000 feet and heavy woodland throughout tropical Africa. The length of the forewings is 45–52 mm and the wingspan is about 116 mm, making it the largest species in the genus. The body and wings are dark greyish olive and the abdomen is unmarked. The forewings have a thick straight dark diagonal line running from the tornus to the middle of the costa. The basal, subbasal, antemedial and postmedial lines are faint, irregular and incomplete. The submarginal is complete, more regular and more distinct. The hindwings are very dark olive, with the apical third being darker. ==References==
